چکیده

Absfracl-In this paper, we propose a method for analysis of linear turbo equalization that makes use of extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) charts. Given channel knowledge and a timeinvariant set oi linear equalizer coefficients, evolution of soft information in the soft-input soft-output (SISO) equalizer can be estimated via analytically measuring the mutual inionnation between the transmitted symbols and their estimated a priori values at the two end points of an EXIT chart Using lhis estimated equalizer EXIT chart and an empirically generated decoder EXIT chart, convergence analysis can he undertaken. In comparison with existing EXIT chart based methods, the proposed approach can significantly reduce the reliance on extensive computer simulation. Fie. 1.. A lypical W s m i t mcdel.

Turbo-equalization: convergence analysis

We investigate a sub-optimal iterative receiver for joint equalization and decoding called Turbo-equalizer. We view the evolution of the error variance of the transmitted symbols through the iterative processing, obtaining convergence analysis. This allows us to predict the asymptotic performance (when the Turbo-equalizer has converged) but also the trigger point observed in its performance.

Wireless broadband single-carrier systems with MMSE turbo equalization receivers

Broadband single-carrier modulated signals experience severe multipath distortion when propagating through the physical medium. Correcting the distortion with channel equalization is the foremost task of the detector. Prior information about the transmitted signals in the form of channel decoder feedback can significantly enhance equalization accuracy. An algorithm that iteratively performs cha...

Analysis of linear turbo equalizer via EXIT chart

In this paper, we propose a method for analysis of linear turbo equalization based on extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) charts. Given channel knowledge and therefore the optimum linear equalizer coefficients, evolution of soft information of the soft-input soft-output (SISO) equalizer can be estimated via computing bit error rates (BER) analytically. Compared to conventional analysis method...

Low Complexity Time-Concatenated Turbo Equalization for Block Transmission without Guard Interval: Part 2 - Application to SC-FDMA

The primary objective of this paper is to apply the CHATUE algorithm, presented in the Part-1 paper of this article, to multi-user Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) Systems. The CHATUE algorithm connects turbo equalizers neighboring in time in the absence of Cyclic Prefix or Guard Interval, where the latest version of the reduced complexity equalization technique, Freq...
